In addition to the engraving, the functional layer 'Ceramic' is of central importance.

As a common industry standard the Cr2O3-Ceramics are established.
For special applications the Cerat®-Ceramic, developed by Zecher, is a further alternative.

The 'functional layer' (Ceramic) is not to be mistaken by the 'construction form' of the roller.
The roller body can be a steel roller, be a Sleeve or from CarbonFibre.
